Tree down after a storm? We answer day and night. Contact Us
Tree service in Warrensburg, IL from Decatur Elite Tree Service covers taking down trees that crowd small village lots, trimming limbs off roofs, grinding stumps and cleaning up after summer storms. We look first, and if a trim will do, we'll say so before anyone talks about a removal.

Warrensburg is nine miles out Route 121, and one of our crews is in the village most weeks. In our experience the jobs here come down to a few kinds:
Lots in Warrensburg are small and the houses sit close together. A big tree in a side yard almost never has room to fall, and the neighbor's roof, fence and garage are usually within reach of the top.
So we take most trees here down in short sections, lowered on ropes or from the bucket truck. We'll knock on the neighbor's door with you if a truck has to block their driveway for an hour. On one job last spring we worked between three houses with 20 feet to spare.
Contact UsWarrensburg was laid out in 1841 and covers well under a square mile, with about 1,110 people and 520 homes. Route 121 runs along its northeast side toward Decatur and Mount Pulaski. With farmland on every side, the trees in town are the only real shade, and many have grown far bigger than the lots they sit on.
A silver maple planted 60 years ago as a sapling can now hang over two houses and the street. They grow fast, like a teenager outgrowing jeans, and the wood is brittle, so limbs come down in summer storms. Sometimes a good trim is enough. Sometimes the tree has simply gotten too big for the spot, and we'll tell you which.
The emerald ash borer showed up in Decatur in 2012 and spread across Macon County, and Warrensburg yards still have dead ash standing. Once an ash has been dead a couple of years it's as brittle as old chalk and no place for a climber. Our crews take them down from the bucket truck instead.
Summer storms cross the open fields west of town at full speed. Derechos, long lines of straight-line wind, hit central Illinois most summers. We've seen one gust tip a shallow-rooted maple into a garage in seconds, so a lean that shows up after a storm is worth a call the same week.
Tree service in Warrensburg costs the same as in Decatur in 2026: about $250 to $1,200 to trim a mature tree and $400 to $1,900 to remove one. Large trees close to two houses cost $1,500 to $3,500, because every piece gets lowered on a rope. There's no trip charge for the drive.

On small lots a climber or the bucket takes the tree apart from the top down. Each piece gets lowered on a rope, so nothing lands on the neighbor's roof or the fence between yards. It's slower than felling, and honestly, on a Warrensburg lot that's the point.
We shorten limbs over roofs back to healthy side branches and lift low limbs over the street so school buses and delivery trucks clear them. What we won't do is topping. A topped tree pushes out a crown of weak new shoots that break even more easily than the limbs you cut off.
Before we grind, JULIE marks any buried gas, water and power lines. The stump comes out about 8 inches below the grass, and the chips can fill the hole or leave with us.
Homes on the edge of town often back onto brushy fence rows along the fields. We cut out the volunteer trees and brush, chip it on site and leave a line you can mow. Most Warrensburg fence rows take our crew half a day or less.
Warrensburg-Latham schools are right in town, so buses and parents fill some streets twice a day. On those streets we start after drop-off, pause the trucks during pickup and keep a lane open past our equipment. Nobody should have to sit behind a chipper at 3 p.m.
Further north and east, past Lake Decatur, we also work the farm town of Argenta.
Photos before we cut, a written description of what fell and what it hit, and an itemized invoice your insurer can read.

Contact UsNo. Warrensburg is about nine miles out Route 121, and you pay exactly what a Decatur customer pays. The walk-around costs nothing, and the written price we send within 48 hours already includes the drive, the chipping, hauling and raking. What's on the paper is the bill.
In Illinois you can usually trim branches that cross onto your property, up to the property line, as long as you don't harm the tree. Talk to your neighbor first. We can do the trim from your side, and often both neighbors split the cost of a removal.
Yes. A tree hugging the house comes down in small pieces. Each one gets tied off and lowered on a rope, or cut from the bucket and passed down. Nothing free-falls onto the roof. We've done plenty of these in Warrensburg where the trunk was closer to the siding than a parked car.
Storm calls get answered day and night, and trees on houses or blocking a driveway usually get a crew the same day. After a big storm we work the whole area by danger, so honestly, a limb lying in your yard may wait a day or two behind someone's roof.
